Alf the Giant Newt is Macnas’ latest Giant, 20 x 5m, with incorporated lighting, soundtrack and special effects.   

Alf, is inspired by the current conversations around climate change and habitat loss.   Our newt, as all newts do, tries to return to his home after a successful summer in the waterways of Ireland but cannot as it is no longer there.  His wetland retreat has been drained by a mixture of human development and climate change. So our little(big) friend finds himself roaming the world, looking for somewhere suitable to call home.
