Galway-based spectacle theatre company Macnas are opening the doors of their workshop this summer for workshops aimed at both children and adults.
Back by popular demand… the Macnas Óg Summer School returns this July.
Led by Macnas performance directors Judith Higgins and Miquel Barceló, this summer camp is perfect for children age 7 – 12.
Budding performers are invited to attend the Macnas Workshop for a full week of activities, running Monday July 2nd – Friday July 6th, 10am – 1pm.
The focus of the daily workshops will be physical acivity, games and Macnas magic and mayhem, culminating in a performance for parents. Limited places remain on the course and can be booked from macnas.eventbrite.ie.
Meanwhile, Macnas associate artist Paul McDonnell will host a five-day character-sculpting course aimed at adults, running from June 25th – 29th.
Over the course of the week, participants will build a life-sized monster sculpture – worthy of an appearance in the Macnas parade – from scratch.
Course leader Paul has been lecturing in IADT for the past 13 years, specialising in 3-dimensional design, model-making and digital art, as well as design for stage and screen. Limited places remain. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for further info.
